HomeGain Continues to Deliver A+ Customer Service

bbb_postcard-copyWe recently received a notice (see image on right) from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) stating that 861 people have inquired about HomeGain.com over the past few months — to which the BBB replied that HomeGain is BBB Accredited and BBB rated A+.

HomeGain is dedicated to continuing its efforts of providing its real estate professional customers with the best customer service it can, and its consumers (home buyers and sellers) with the best free services on the internet possible.

Some recent feedback from agent customers:

  • “Holly is wonderful.  She is responsive, informative, honest and extremely helpful.”
  • “Great company.  You are a great business partner.”  (Eric Pakulla, RE/MAX Advantage Realty)
  • “I like your program, I pay you when I get paid, it works well and is consumer driven.”
  • “Tried them all and your site is the only one that works as far as capturing leads.  Gabriel is a cool rep as well.”
  • “The HomeGain team is remarkable and helpful in every way. I appreciate all of them.”
  • “Value received, and customer service.  I sold my first house on-line with HomeGain BuyerLink, now I am a Top Producer with RE/MAX!”
  • “I love HomeGain! My favorite lead source….if you were to create a brokerage, I would be first in line to run an office for you here in SoCal!”
  • “Wonderfully run organization.  Everybody is winning with what you are doing, unlike many others out there who try to do what you’re doing.”
  • “I have used many other internet lead generation companies and HomeGain is the best without question! Working with them is always very nice. Karina does a fantastic job for us! The quantity and quality of the leads we get are great! I would recommend HomeGain to anyone — it is a very good, solid company!

Grow Your Confidence, Grow Your Business

As a consumer, have you ever walked in to a store, let’s say an electronics store, seeking the advice of one of the helpful salespeople and found that their lack of knowledge throttled their confident-catconfidence level to the point that they were really of no use to you and as they try to muster an answer to a question about which TV to buy, you lose confidence in them?

There are pros and cons for each TV and you as the consumer need answers to make the right choice but you can’t get them because your salesperson does not have any confidence that they know the answer. As a consumer, we unconsciously pick up on subtleties of people like this salesperson and we lose confidence in them very quickly! We naturally gravitate towards those who we automatically recognize as confident about their work.

So it goes with real estate agents working with home buyers or sellers.

I encourage that you spend some time every week working on aspects of your business that can help you increase your confidence. It doesn’t matter if you are new or have been in the business a while. If you know what you are doing it will show through loud and clear to your clients in that ever important first impression. That’s confidence. Continue reading this post

SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE

I answer my phone, and, have made this a practice since starting my business in 1991. As a result of this practice, I get very few voice mails throughout the day. I cannot stress this enough!

Customers have hired me to get their transactions completed in a timely manner, and to help with this I carry my phone with me most of the time. It is much better to answer the call, deal with the situation and move on.

I try to encourage e-mail contact between my buyers and sellers and I carry my phone (which is e-mail capable) on my side pretty much all the time. As a Realtor® I know that if you do not like being disturbed by phone calls or e-mails, you should look into another profession.

My quick response to my buyers and sellers puts their minds at ease, and lets them know that they are getting advice from a pro.

It is most important when talking with potential clients that you let them know what to expect from this current market. For example: Continue reading this post

MLS Compensation; The Ugly Truth Today

House and Money

“Real estate compensation structures are wrought with problems, which could be effectively eliminated if the MLS-mandated offer of compensation were done away with.

Agent compensation is set by office policies that support a specific company’s fee philosophy and income. But the system doesn’t take into account how it affects consumers’ opinion of value received or how it can clash with other companies’ compensation policies.

These policies also contribute to uneducated agents blacklisting certain properties—either intentionally or unintentionally.

One major contributing factor to the compensation problem is that a buyer’s agent is paid according to the selling agent’s office policy. This totally disregards the buy-side agent’s office policy on compensation, the buyer’s contract with his agent and the seller’s best interests, which are to remove any barriers that may keep potential buyers from seeing their home.

One problematic result of the mandatory unilateral offer of compensation is the belief that the seller and his agent are the ones paying for the buyer agent’s fee. In reality, both the seller and buyer agents’ fees come from the negotiated sale price, and are deducted from the proceeds Continue reading this post
