MAX Returns Home
Takes up Residence in New Home Built By HomeGain Employees
Max, the HomeGain Gorilla, returned home today from an extended trip where he was visiting distant relatives in the volcano national park in Rwanda. Late last month, Max’s motor tour was interrupted and he was shuttled out of the country as a precautionary health measure to ensure he would not have a repeat episode of the severe reaction he had when HomeGain announced the launch of Agent Profiles. When Max learned of the agent profile feature and the attendant media frenzy, Max suffered heart palpitations and fell out of his tree.

HomeGain General Manager, Louis Cammarosano, stated, “Upon his return to Emeryville, Max was informed of the news of the launch of the HomeGain Agent Blogging Network under the supervision of his personal veterinarian, Dr. Wolliz.” Max appeared to take the news of the HomeGain Agent Blogging Network launch in stride commenting “I am not surprised at all, I’ve come to expect immense innovation from HomeGain. Please pass the jelly beans.”
Max was also informed that the HomeGain employees had built Max a house to specifications he had submitted in an AgentEvaluator proposal. Upon seeing his dream home that read more
Your Personality Drives Your Online Business
In this month’s Agent Success Newsletter, we featured Brian Block of the Block Real Estate Group, LLC with RE/MAX Allegiance.

A large part of a real estate agent’s success is being likable. We all prefer to work with people we like. The same applies to selecting a real estate agent.
Met in person, it’s easy to assess an agent’s personality right away. But business over the Internet may not always be so simple. Writing styles don’t always translate – it could be too dry, too silly, too short or too casual. Plus, not all agents are aware of Internet best practices. An agent might email too often, not reply fast enough or come across too short. A website might have an unclear font, unattractive colors or show too many photos.
All this speaks to the agent’s personality. It’s an interpretation of who you are and what you can do for your client.
One HomeGain agent, Brian Block, has found a mix of online marketing tools where he can efficiently and effectively show his personality, and communicate via the Internet to the degree where he can convert online prospects into clients – resulting in over 70% of his business. read more
Using AgentEvaluator to Win More Deals
Helping You Compete In Your Market
Competition in some HomeGain markets can be challenging. To succeed, an agent must effectively differentiate themselves or potential clients won’t select them to be their agent.

Unless a homebuyer or seller is directly referred to you in the offline world, it is likely their first impression of you will be your picture, name, a tag line, and maybe another detail or two which they saw on a mailer or another ad source.
Every day and in every market, potential buyers or sellers receive far more similar invitations to do business with you and your competitors than the number they receive when seeking an agent through HomeGain.
While these ad-based marketing methods can be effective (or you wouldn’t use them), they don’t allow you to really differentiate the value of your services from that of your competition, to comprehensively market your services, or to tell a potential client what you can do to meet their specific needs.
Unlike much of offline real estate marketing, read more
HomeGain Holds First Quarter 2008 All Hands Meeting
HomeGain Employees Update Management and Peers on First Quarter Accomplishments
Earlier this week we held our first all hands meeting of the year at the Hilton Garden Inn in Emeryville.
In addition to the entire HomeGain team, Dan Jauernig, Chief Executive Officer of Classified Ventures, and Tim Fagan, President of Classified Ventures Real Estate, were in attendance.
I opened the meeting by reaffirming our commitment to customer and employee satisfaction.
We received updates from almost every HomeGain department.
Many of the presenters, selected from amongst the ranks to address their peers, were doing so for the first time. They were well prepared as they had received public speaking training earlier in the year.
The feedback regarding the speakers’ presentations was overwhelmingly positive.
Here are some comments by fellow HomeGainers on the job well done by the presenters: read more
