An Interview with Dr. Pangloss
I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Pangloss by phone recently to find out how the Westphalia market was doing. Dr. Pangloss, formerly associate broker at Cunegund Realty Associates in Westphalia, which closed its doors last week due to adverse market conditions, was happy to speak to me to give his views on the state of the Westphalia real estate market.
HomeGain: Dr. Pangloss thanks for taking the time to speak with me.
Dr. Pangloss: You are welcome.
HG: Let’s start by talking about the demise and bankruptcy of Cunegund Realty Associates or CRA. It seems your once thriving real estate practice fell on hard times in the past 12-18 months.
Dr. P : Ah, it is demonstrable that things cannot be otherwise, there is no effect without a cause and that the closing of CRA is the best of all possible worlds.
HG: How so?
Dr. P: The Real Estate Market in general is necessarily concatenated and arranged for the best and the Westphalia market is no different. These things have to happen every eighty years or so.
HG: I see. CRA once employed over 100 real estate professionals in Westphalia. I understand that many of them will be leaving the profession.
Dr. P: Yes, this is necessary and all could not have been otherwise.
HG: Does the rapid erosion of home prices and confidence in the market concern you?
Dr. P: The collapse of real estate markets is no new thing.
HG: What does this mean for the Westphalia Real Estate Market?
Dr. P: It means simply that NOW is the best time ever to buy a home!
HG: I am sorry Dr. Pangloss how is that so with tightening credit standards and foreclosures up over 386% in Westphalia .
Dr. P: Let’s take a look at the facts. We haven’t had the bubonic plague in Westphalia for over one thousand years, lynchings are non existent, and the recent city wide fire destroyed only half of our schools and just six of our eight fire stations. So there is infrastructure and a plague free environment.
HG: And those are some of the compelling reasons to buy a home in Westphalia?
Dr. P: Yes all is for the best.
HG: So you intend to continue to sell homes in Westphalia?
Dr. P: Of course not, I don’t have any agents that will work for me here in Westphalia.
HG: What are you going to do? Are you going to leave Westphalia?
Dr. P: No, I am staying here in Westphalia and going online. The benefits and connections of the Internet are common to all and everyone has an equal right to the enjoyment of them.
HG: Where are you going to sell houses?
Dr. P: Everywhere!
HG: Doesn’t that go against the basic tenet of real estate –that all real estate is local?
Dr. P: In the best of all possible worlds, real estate is universal and transparent. There is a pre-established harmony in all this and its available through social networking, twitter, facebook and all the other tools that are available to all people.
HG: Who are you going to sell homes to?
Dr. P: Everyone! I am no longer limited to selling to and in Westphalia. I can use social media to my best advantage to reach as many people as I possibly can all over the country and even the world.
HG: So you neither view yourself as having been driven to bankruptcy nor from the Westphalia real estate market by adverse conditions beyond your control.
Dr. P. Excellently observed Louis! Due to recent market events I am now free to cultivate my online contacts, in Westphalia and beyond. All is for the best.
HG. Good luck to you.
