HomeGain Blog School Report Card

HomeGain’s Blog School has been in session for 8 weeks and I have seen a great improvement in the content being produced on the real estate agent blogs. Several agents have had their posts rank on the first pages of Google for their market keywords.

Regardless of Google ranking, agents are writing useful content for buyers and sellers, content they can share with future prospects and clients. Blogging to create an archival real estate information reserve is a relatively untapped methodology. If a prospective client asks an agent a common question — what are my closing costs? — the agent need only email their blog post on closing costs.

I have encouraged bloggers to write on topics which reflect common buyer and seller concerns. They are of enduring value.

Here are a couple of examples. Mitchell Feldman in Brooklyn, who has a great conversational tone, wrote “Buyers Guide to Closing Costs in Brooklyn” and “Negotiating Tips for Sellers in Brooklyn (or anywhere else)” (love that title).

These reflect typical consumer concerns. And because of his personable writing style, the reader gets a good glimpse of Mitch’s personality and expertise. Allison Van Wig’s “How to Choose a Listing Agent” and “Why You Should Stage Your Home” (she reminds readers about “exterior” staging) are also well written posts which provide useful information for home sellers.

I want to take this opportunity to thank HomeGain for lending a helping hand to real estate agents who want to start blogging. I believe agents who write regularly will become better communicators and better serve the real estate consumer. I am delighted to be part of the program.

If you want to join the Gainers who are blogging, sign up for classes now. It’s never too late to start.

Real estate blogs are definately helping consumers and the archive function allows you to search sites like a library.

Mitchell – your blog is excellent. I stopped by a read a few posts – keep up the good work.

Joe – sometimes we miss the obvious – “I have encouraged bloggers to write on topics which reflect common buyer and seller concerns. They are of enduring value.”

Sometimes we have to figure out how to move from static to dynamic.
