Attitude is Half of Life
With the market we are in I have noticed a wider than normal gap between Realtors who are successful this year and the ones who are not.

I think there are probably several reasons for this with one being that people considering selling their home know it is a tough market and for this reason want to list with a successful Realtor.
The question comes to mind – WHY are some Realtors more successful in this market?
I was listing homes in a new subdivision for a builder yesterday and I think he pointed out a key reason for the success of some and not others. He said that he had noticed a key difference between Realtors in this market. Some had decided that we were in a really bad market and the best thing to do was keep your head down and just wait until the bad market was over and then get back to work. He said another group acknowledged that there was a bad market BUT they were determined to push through and find innovative ways to market homes.
This Builder said that he was listing his subdivision with us because we seemed to be in the camp that wanted to push through with innovative marketing techniques and he was in the camp of Builders who are determined to find innovative ways to cut costs and push forward building homes.
I think this is a profound statement!
So my question to you is what are YOU doing?
Have you decided it is a bad market and that you might as well take the day off OR are you spending the day looking for ways to:
- Increase Leads?
- Improve your marketing plan?
- Reach out to your sphere of influence?
- Build an internet presence?

Great post, Wayne. It’s definitely about making the best of your situation. I know I’m working harder this year for the same results, but at least we’re getting results!

SPOT ON!
I could not agree with those sentiments more. There is a time to let things happen and a time to make things happen. There are tools out there to succeed, even in turbulent times.
Great example Wayne.

Attitude. Does your agent have a positive attitude? I wrote about this about a month or so ago as well and I couldn’t agree more with what you have said. So here in Atlanta we are off roughly ~30% or so in closed sales – or – we are still selling 70% of the homes we were last year. Do you want to dwell of the 30% not selling or find a way to be part of the 70% of the market still moving forward?
I know where I stand and I fully intend on doing more business this year than last.
