Learn New Business Tips: Listen to the March 19 “Ask The Experts”

Posted by: Jessica Gopalakrishnan on March 26th, 2009

HomeGain hosted its third “Ask The Experts” live real estate forum last week. With a new format that allowed more question time for participants, HomeGain.com received dozens of questions directed at the experts before the session began, and many more during the call.

The panel of experts were:

  • Barry Karch of Prudential BKB Realtors in El Paso, Texas, who answered questions about ”Generating New Business From The Internet”
  • Mitch Ribakof eHomes Realty Network in Melbourne, Florida, who covered “Converting Leads Into Clients”
  • Carl Medford of Windermere Properties of the East Bay, in San Francisco Bay Area in California, who spoke about the ”Essentials of Being A Virtual Agent”

Listen to this valuable 40-minute real estate call:

A few questions that were asked and answered during the call:

“I’m still fairly new to the industry, however, I have come to realize. That the internet is a key player in our business.  What do I need to do to get my own internet presence and to generate leads and can you recommend the most cost effective and reliable companies to work with?” (Marvis Stewart)

“Which websites are the best to subscribe in order to receive new business from the internet? How can I be more visible to the internet customers without expending a fortune in subscriptions and monthly fees?” (Vicky Lobos Kirker)

“What is your routine as a lead comes in?  What do you find is a good number for conversion rates? How many touches do you find are required for conversion? (Carol LeDoux)

“I’m pretty new to being a Realtor. What are the benefits of being a virtual agent? Downsides? What kinds of tools do you need to be virtual?”

“Should I require a phone number or not to gain access to an agent’s IDX and web tools? I already have conversion rates of probably 2% or less. When I was requiring phone numbers, they were generally bogus.” (Lee King)

“I have great placement and get 7-10 internet registrations per day.  What is the best first response after a registration to make this people want to talk to me?” (Mark Zabilowcz)

“What can I do to increase my [AgentEvaluator] proposals being accepted, I have had the area manager look over my proposals and he thinks they are fine but I am not getting any responses? Should I re-contact if my proposal is read but not responded to?” (Marsha Miller)

“How do you break through and be able to get in touch with the correct person(s) at lending institutions to compete for the listings available?” (Tom Doyle)

“What is the best way to approach banks about foreclosures to get listings?” (Ervin Johnson)

Feedback from the session & why you’ll want to listen!:

  • “I like hearing from other Brokers who are in the trenches like me. They offered another view of how I can improve my work.”
  • “I would like any more seminars of this type.”
  • “Good session”
  • “The best real estate training call I have attended.  Thank you so very much.”
  • “Really cleared up a lot of issues for me.”
  • “It’s probably the best hour I’ll spend this week. Thanks to all of you.”
