Ask HomeGain – January/February Issue

Q: I have uploaded my listings to other web sites like Zillow and Realtor.com. I know I can upload them to HomeGain, but why should I do that?

A: Considering the current high level of inventory on the market, the more exposure you can provide your listings, the more likely those listings will sell. Homegain.com is a web site which has national visibility.

So, not only are you posting your listing for your local market area, but you are also providing exposure for those listings on a national and even international area. HomeGain receives visits from people living outside the US and this further increases your chance of finding a buyer for your listings.

There is another very important aspect to uploading your listings to HomeGain.com. A listing consists of a specific street address within a specific zip code. It is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of information. It is also information which is of high value and very relevant to a potential home buyer.

As such, when Google or one of the other search engines crawls through www.homegain.com, they will find the listing and, due to its quality, will tend to push it higher in Google’s search results. Frequently, a listing, and of course the agent associated with the listing, appear on the first page of Google search results.

Over and above the added exposure for the listing, there is also Search Engine Marketing (SEM) value. For these reasons, it is important to upload all your listings and even listings from your broker or other agents with whom you can set up a referral program.
