Attitude is Half of Life

With the market we are in I have noticed a wider than normal gap between Realtors who are successful this year and the ones who are not.

I think there are probably several reasons for this with one being that people considering selling their home know it is a tough market and for this reason want to list with a successful Realtor.

The question comes to mind – WHY are some Realtors more successful in this market?
I was listing homes in a new subdivision for a builder yesterday and I think he pointed out a key reason for the success of some and not others. He said that he had noticed a key difference between Realtors in this market. Some had decided that we were in a really bad market and the best thing to do was keep your head down and just wait until the bad market was over and then get back to work. He said another group acknowledged that there was a bad market BUT they were determined to push through and find innovative ways to market homes.

This Builder said that he was listing his subdivision with us Continue reading this post

A Visit from Agent Kelly Barnes

On Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), HomeGain had a special treat, as Kelly Barnes, a Realtor from Hawaii, came to visit us in Emeryville.

Mr. Barnes has extensive real estate knowledge within the Honolulu and West Coast mainland areas. He owns several multi-family apartment buildings in the Honolulu area and is accustomed to handling real estate transactions of tremendous value.

A BuyerLink subscriber for over a year, Kelly provided some great insight into what’s happening in his market as well as what HomeGain has done for his business.

“I feel confidant investing my marketing dollars with HomeGain, due to the simple fact that it works,” said Kelly.

Ryan Monsanto, Senior Sales Manager at HomeGain, stated, “Kelly had a great time visiting us and the feeling was mutual for HomeGain, as we are focused on building strong relationships with our clients.” Continue reading this post

MAX Returns Home

Takes up Residence in New Home Built By HomeGain Employees

Max, the HomeGain Gorilla, returned home today from an extended trip where he was visiting distant relatives in the Volcano National Park in Rwanda. Late last month, Max’s motor tour was interrupted and he was shuttled out of the country as a precautionary health measure to ensure he would not have a repeat episode of the severe reaction he had when HomeGain announced the launch of Agent Profiles. When Max learned of the agent profile feature and the attendant media frenzy, Max suffered heart palpitations and fell out of his tree.

HomeGain General Manager, Louis Cammarosano, stated, “Upon his return to Emeryville, Max was informed of the news of the launch of the HomeGain Agent Blogging Network under the supervision of his personal veterinarian, Dr. Wolliz.” Max appeared to take the news of the HomeGain Agent Blogging Network launch in stride commenting, “I am not surprised at all. I’ve come to expect immense innovation from HomeGain. Please pass the jelly beans.”

Max was also informed that the HomeGain employees had built Max a house to specifications he had submitted in an AgentEvaluator proposal. Upon seeing his dream home Continue reading this post

The Importance of Treating HomeGain Employees Like Customers

In the beginning of this year, HomeGain created 2008 Goals that not only focused on the customers, but also on the employees. Each employee received a copy of these goals and posted them in their workspace.

In order for employees to service our customers in the best manner possible, HomeGain needs to make sure that employees feel valued, are provided with interesting and fulfilling jobs, receive honesty from management, and that HomeGain creates an environment conducive to employee development as well as personal and professional satisfaction.

What has HomeGain done to support these important goals? Here are a few ways HomeGain appreciates its employees:

  • The Employee Activities Committee (EAC), which consists of employees from each department, has come up with activities for all employees to enjoy. One activity is HG30, which was developed to help employees learn and understand more about other departments within HomeGain in 30 minutes or less. HG30 is held in the Employee Lounge
